Movie, Talkback & Reception – Saturday, June 4 at The United Theatre

“The only disability in life is a bad attitude.”
–Anthony Ferraro

Born blind with Leber congenital amaurosis, Anthony, now 28, was the only blind wrestler on his New Jersey high school team. A Shot in the Dark tracks Anthony as he tries to win a state wrestling championship in his senior year of high school.  Following the film, enjoy Anthony’s lively, good humor and frank discussion about living with vision loss, and more!

Sofia Sees Hope Vision and Mission

What is Leber Congenital Amaurosis (LCA)?

LCA is a rare inherited retinal disease characterized by severe vision loss at birth. While some children are born with little or no vision, others may have significant vision loss in the first few years of life, stable vision for a period of time, and then eventually complete vision loss as the retina deteriorates into total blindness.
