Volunteer Opportunity: Writer/Editor for Short-Term Project

 In News

We’re in the process of relaunching the Hope in Focus website, and we need the help of a professional writer/editor to support this project. Some sections of the web copy need to be rewritten, while others will be new, requiring fresh copy. Our goal is to ensure that our relaunched site accurately reflects who we are, what we do, and is easy for people to navigate and understand.

Specifically, we are seeking a skilled volunteer to help us by:

  • Rewriting specific sections of the website as assigned
  • Writing new web content, including sections about community and patient support, Hope in Focus programs, and more!
  • Ensuring clarity in written content and alignment with our tone and brand standards

The ideal volunteer:

  • Has professional writing/editing experience, preferably with websites and/or nonprofit work
  • Can work independently
  • Can dedicate at least 10 hours to this project (over a month)
  • Has an interest in rare disease, lived experience with LCA or another IRD, or just enjoys helping nonprofits!

Interested?

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you! You can reach out to eve@hopeinfocus.org with a brief introduction and, if available, writing samples. Thanks for your consideration.
