Hope in Focus is excited to announce the return of Party for Sight, our summer-long community fundraiser that brings people together to raise awareness and support for individuals and families affected by Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA) and other inherited retinal diseases (IRDs).

Created as a fun and meaningful way for supporters to get involved, Party for Sight encourages participants to host gatherings of any size throughout the summer. From backyard barbecues and birthday celebrations to game nights, neighborhood walks, and coffee meetups, every event helps introduce more people to the IRD community and Hope in Focus’ mission.

“One of the best parts of Hope in Focus is seeing how willing our community is to help.” said Eve Orcutt, marketing and community engagement manager. “Party for Sight gives people a simple way to turn that generosity into action. It doesn’t have to be a big event – it’s about bringing people together, starting conversations, and helping more families feel seen and supported.”

There is no minimum fundraising goal or required event format, making it easy for anyone to participate. Every conversation started, every new connection made, and every dollar raised helps Hope in Focus continue to advance research, education, and advocacy, and to support programs for the IRD community.

Participants can register, download the free Party for Sight Toolkit, and access fundraising resources to help plan their event. Those who aren’t able to host an event are encouraged to support the campaign by sharing it with friends, family, and their local communities.

Party for Sight will run throughout the summer, giving supporters plenty of opportunities to participate and help spread awareness.
